Cellular Health & Dental Health: Dentist Dr. Price

dental health and cellular nutrition

Dr. Weston A. Price, a dentist from Cleveland who lived from 1870 to 1948, has been referred to as the "Isaac Newton of Cellular Nutrition." While investigating the reasons behind dental decay and physical degeneration that he witnessed in his dental practice, he shifted his focus from laboratory equipment to unexplored evidence among humans.

Dr. Price aimed to identify the elements that contributed to healthy teeth in individuals who possessed them, specifically the secluded "primitives."

Despite being ignored by the orthodox dental establishment for over 50 years, his conclusions are now gaining renewed acceptance as systems dentistry practitioners are discovering that the first step to recovery from degenerative disease often involves removing all root canals in the patient's mouth.

As he journeyed across the globe, the world became his experimental ground. Dr. Price's research led him to the conclusion that dental caries and misshapen dental arches, which resulted in unattractive appearances, were merely symptoms of physical degeneration caused by nutritional deficiencies. In his quest for knowledge, he studied various isolated human groups, including secluded Swiss villages, Gaelic communities in the Outer Hebrides, Eskimos and Indians of North America, Melanesian and Polynesian South Sea Islanders, African tribes, Australian Aborigines, New Zealand Maori, and the Indians of South America. Everywhere he went, Dr. Price discovered that native peoples who adhered to their traditional diets, rich in essential food factors, had beautiful straight teeth, were free from decay, had robust bodies, were resistant to diseases, and possessed fine characters.

Dr. Price's analysis of the diets of isolated indigenous peoples revealed that they consumed animal foods such as butter, fish eggs, shellfish, and organ meats, which provided at least four times the calcium and other minerals, and at least ten times the fat-soluble vitamins. This highlights the importance of traditional diets in maintaining optimal health. The comparison between the "primitive" and "modernized" Seminole girls further emphasizes the negative impact of abandoning traditional diets on physical health and immunity to disease.

It is widely acknowledged that cellular proper nutrition is crucial for expectant mothers, but Dr. Price's research revealed that indigenous communities had already been practicing preconception nutritional programs for both parents. Many tribes mandated a period of premarital nutrition, and children were spaced to allow the mother to maintain her optimal health and strength, ensuring that future offspring would also be physically exceptional. Expectant and nursing mothers, as well as young boys and girls preparing for parenthood, were often given special foods that were found to be abundant in fat-soluble vitamins A and D, which are only present in animal fats, according to Dr. Price's findings.

Dr. Weston Price's photographs vividly depict the contrasting facial structures of individuals following traditional diets and those whose parents embraced the "civilized" diets consisting of processed foods lacking vital nutrients. These indigenous people exhibit remarkable physical attributes, uniform reproduction, emotional resilience, and a remarkable absence of degenerative ailments. In stark contrast, individuals subsisting on the impoverished foods of modern civilization, such as sugar, white flour, pasteurized milk, and convenience foods laden with extenders and additives, display noticeable differences in their facial features.

Dr. Price's classic volume, Nutrition and Physical Degeneration, presents his discoveries and conclusions. The book features striking photographs of healthy, attractive natives and effectively illustrates the physical degeneration that results from abandoning nourishing traditional diets in favor of modern convenience foods. In addition to his work on nutrition, Dr. Price also conducted extensive research into the harmful effects of root canals, which he detailed in his two-volume work Dental Infections Oral & Systemic and Dental Infections & the Degenerative Diseases. Despite being ignored by the orthodox dental establishment for over 50 years, his conclusions are now gaining renewed acceptance as holistic practitioners are discovering that the first step to recovery from degenerative disease often involves removing all root canals in the patient's mouth.

The fundamentals of holistic dentistry, which have been established through the studies of Weston Price and Francis Pottenger, can be summarized as follows:

  • Consume whole foods that are rich in nutrients and have been grown and prepared in a proper manner.
  • If you suspect that root canals are contributing to any health issues, it is advisable to have them removed by a dentist who is knowledgeable in this area.
  • Opt for alternatives to mercury (amalgam) fillings.
  • If you already have such fillings, consult a holistic dentist who specializes in replacing them with safer options.
  • When undergoing orthodontic treatment, ensure that measures are taken to widen the palate.
  • Extract teeth only when absolutely necessary, and ensure that the procedure is performed in a way that prevents the formation of cavitations in the jaw bone, as they can become potential sites of infection.

The foundation of optimal dental health lies in the dietary choices made by parents. The young Samoan boy on the left was born to parents who embraced a nourishing diet consisting of nutrient-rich native foods. Conversely, the Samoan boy on the right was born to parents who veered away from their traditional diet, resulting in crowded dental arches and an increased vulnerability to dental decay.

The contrast between indigenous communities that possess a strong resistance to dental caries and are free from degenerative ailments, and modernized groups who have abandoned their traditional diets in favor of commercially available foods primarily composed of white flour products, sugar, polished rice, jams, canned goods, and vegetable fats, has led to a decline in their immunity to dental caries and an increase in degenerative processes. Statistical data reveals the significant disparity in the levels of minerals and vitamins present in indigenous diets compared to modernized diets.

There's no such thing as a "balanced diet" & nutrition isn't merely food. Why is that? It's because we're all individuals. Orthomolecular nutrition is the individualized analysis application of the substances within the food which our bodies often do not obtain enough of and are often blocked by antagonists.

"Nutrition" is far more than merely the trivial concept of food.
